From being a Shepherd to being a King

There is no limit to what God can do in the life of a person who is humbly committed to Him. That is why we should never set limits for ourselves on what we can achieve with His help. In all of history we see how God took people from low positions in life and promoted them to the highest offices in the land. God is still doing that today, too. David is a great example of this truth. (I Chronicles 17:7) David was the youngest son in his family. He was a shepherd for his father's sheep. That was the lowliest job a person could have.  However, God took David from the pasture, tending sheep, and He made him king over His people, Israel. That is a huge promotion, but it shows God is able. What does God what to do in your life?

God values humility. A humble person is teachable. When God sees that we have a humble heart that trusts Him, He knows He can give us a higher position, and it won't go to our head. When we are faithful in the little things, He knows He can trust us with the greater things. Of course, it is all in line with what He has for us to do. That is why we must seek His will daily, and follow what He shows us faithfully. In the course of obeying Him, He will grow us up spiritually, so we are able to do greater things for Him. We have to listen to the Lord, and not decline to do what He calls us to do. We must not think that we are unable to do an important work. When God has prepared us, and He is with us, we can do anything, even be a king or queen. I hope we will spend some time praising God for His goodness in this area. This makes life so interesting, as we follow the Lord. We never know what He will have for us tomorrow.
