The God of All Comfort

Our God is amazing! He is so able to do for us whatever we need at any particular time, since He is All-powerful, All-wise, and His very nature is pure, divine love. Once we know Jesus, we have all we need because we have a relationship with God, and He has laid up for us every spiritual blessing. However, we must accept what He has for us. We must allow Him to apply His power in our lives. When we choose to trust Him instead of ourselves, life works according to His plan for us, which is wonderful. However, trials still come. We have sickness and pain. We experience grief of losing those close to us. God has the answer for this, too. He is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. (II Corinthians 1:3,4) He brings to us "all comfort" which is just the kind of comfort we need, since He knows us perfectly. We are comforted by His comfort, so we can comfort others who have afflictions of all kinds with the same comfort He used to bring healing to us. Praise the Lord !

Comfort means to be with another person to give them strength. It literally means, "with strength." Comfort is not just nice words and feeling sorry for another person who is in pain. Comfort is the strength to carry us through to the other side. Comfort is the right balm to heal our wounds, so we can go forward. Then, we go forward, strong in the Lord; we are not crippled by sadness. We have the love, joy, peace of the Lord, and our lives are useful to Him, because we are examples of His mercy and His power to comfort. We bring hope to those around us that they can receive the same comfort from us and from the Lord. They see with their eyes that we are made whole, and they are encouraged. The comfort spreads, as we spread the comfort of the Lord. God is so good! Run to the God of all comfort today for whatever pain you have. Know that He is the Father of mercy who will care about you more than anyone else. Submit to Him and be used by God to help others again.
