Proving Jesus is the Christ

Many people doubt that Jesus was anything more than a good man. Others think that He was a great teacher. However, the truth is that Jesus was far more than a man and a teacher. He the God/Man, 100% God and 100% man. I know that is very hard to understand, but it is true. In fact, it is something that can be proven in several ways. When Saul of Tarsus met Jesus on the road to Damascus, his life was changed dramatically. He went from being a Jewish leader, who did not believe in Jesus and persecuted those who did, to a committed believer in Jesus. Immediately, Saul began teaching others. (Acts 7:22) He kept increasing in his spiritual strength, and he was confounding the Jews who lived at Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ. That made them so mad they were trying to kill him. All believers need to be able to do what Saul was doing at Damascus.

Jesus Christ was a real person. There are all sorts of secular writers of His day that refer to Jesus and give us specifics about His life and death. There are many prophecies of the Old Testament that refer to Jesus and His life. Jesus fulfilled all of those prophesies, which is very unlikely statistically unless He really was God and man, as He said. Also, the miracles that Jesus did were beyond what any regular person could have done. He even raised people from the dead. Then, His death and resurrection are verified in history by eye witnesses, and by the fact that His disciples were willing to die for Him after His resurrection. When we pile up all of this evidence, it is convincing proof that Jesus is the Christ. However, there is one more thing that proves Jesus is Lord. One day when I was 14 years old, I put my trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. He changed my life. Now, I am a new creation of His. Only the Christ, the One sent from God to save us from our sins and change us could do that. All of this is conclusive proof of who Jesus is.
