Every Day

There are a lot of things we do every day. They are priorities for us for various reasons. Of course, we do the personal hygiene things to keep us healthy and feeling well. We eat food every day, usually several times each day. As Christians, I would hope we pray and read the Bible every day to stay close to the Lord and to know His will for us that day. I am sure we could name several other daily activities, depending on how we work and what we like to do. However, the book of Acts tells us something that the early Christians did every day. (Acts 5:42) They kept on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. They did this every day in public at the temple, and they did it every day in private homes. I believe we need to return to this as a daily priority today. It could be just what the church needs to be revived in these days.

It seems that many believers are hesitant to share their belief in Jesus in public. This deprives those around us from coming to know about Jesus and from trusting Him as their Lord and Savior. What if every believer asked the boss at their job if they could have a Bible study either before work, on their lunch break, or after work? That would make a huge impact on our world, whether it was once a day or once a week. Then, we would be teaching others that Jesus is the Christ, just like the early Christians. Also, what if we had small groups in our homes and invited our neighbors to come? Then, we could teach and preach Jesus as the Christ in a comfortable setting for others to learn and grow to know Him well. Of course, there are no laws against going door to door and showing others that Jesus is Lord. We just need to share His message in the public places and the private places in our lives. Let's be creative, and let's do every day what the early Christians we doing, when they filled Jerusalem with their doctrine. Let's fill , Stockbridge, Atlanta, Georgia, the United States and the world with teaching and preaching that Jesus is the Christ.
