They Will Look on Me, whom They have Pierced

I believe there will come a day when the Jewish people will come to realize that Jesus was the Messiah God sent to them, and He is the Lord of all. The Bible doesn't give a timeline for this, and we do not know exactly how it will happen. However, Zechariah gave us a pretty clear picture in His prophecy. (Zechariah 12:10) One day, God will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Jesus whom they have pierced, and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him, like the weeping over a firstborn. That is an amazing prophecy that clearly points to Jesus, the crucified One.

The book of Romans tells us that "All Israel will be saved."(Romans 11:25-26) This will happen after the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. I believe that is a reference to the last person who will trust Christ before the end of this church age being saved and the Rapture of the church taking place. Then, after that all living Jewish people will come to know Jesus and be saved. That could be what Zechariah was saying by God pouring out the Spirit of grace and of supplication on the house of David, the Jews. Then, they will see Jesus, who was pierced or crucified, and they will mourn over Him. They will repent of their sins, and trust Him as the Only-Begotten Son of God. That could be another reason that the Antichrist becomes so angry with them and sends the huge army to wipe Israel off of the map. However, God stops all of that when Jesus returns to reign for 1,000 years from Jerusalem. What a glorious time that will be for all of us!
