The Word of God

Words are powerful. We use words all of the time to communicate with others. Hopefully, each time we speak we use our words well. We use them to accomplish something. It could be to express love or some other emotions. It could be to teach something. Words  are used to persuade others to do things. The problem is that our words do not always accomplish what we intend for them to accomplish. They could be misunderstood by others. Our words could be unclear. That is why we are constantly having to repeat what we have said, perhaps in a little different way than at first. The words of God are not like our words. (Isaiah 55:11) When the word of God goes forth from His mouth, it never returns empty. It always accomplishes what God desires. It is always successful. This is the power of the Word of God. I pray we have all learned this truth.

God spoke the universe into existence. When He called for light, it appeared. There has never been a time when God's word failed. God inspired men to write down His Word. Of course, this is the Bible we have today. Every word is God's word. The Spirit made sure that each writer wrote what God wanted in his own vocabulary and according to his own culture. Therefore, when we share the words of God from the Bible, we can know that God will use them to accomplish His purpose in the hearts and lives of those who hear it. Yes, we can reject God's Word, but we always know what we are rejecting. This is why we should never try to communicate about the Lord without using the Bible and quoting it directly. When we are faithful to share His Word, God is faithful to empower it to accomplish His will. This is especially true when we are sharing the Gospel with others. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) We do not need to defend the Word of God, so much as we need to let it loose. God will make sure others hear it and know what to do.
