Seeking God

People are seeking many things today. Most people just want to be happy. They are seeking experiences or relationships with others that will bring them this happiness. Others are seeking money. They believe that acquiring wealth will bring satisfaction to them. There are others who want to have fame. They think that being loved by a lot of fans or followers will give their lives significance. However,  all of these things only bring emptiness in the end. There may be some pleasure or temporary happiness, but it fades away. It doesn't meet our deepest needs.  Those needs can only be met by knowing the Lord. Jeremiah told us how to see that happen. (Jeremiah 29:13) Let's see what God told him to tell us.

God wants a close relationship with all of us. He is love, and He desires to have us love Him back. The problem is that people are too busy seeking other things. When they do seek God, they do not do it well. Their search is shallow, and they never connect with the Lord.  Instead, God is looking for us to seek Him with our whole heart. When we do that and we give ourselves fully to finding God, He promised we would find Him. Therefore,  I pray that we will all seek God more than we seek anything else in life. We will put our whole heart into the search, and we will rejoice in the end, knowing God and having all our needs met by Him.
