True Love is Eternal and Priceless

I am sure we have all heard of people saying they fell out of love with another person. I want to say then, that it was not true love. It may have been infatuation. It could have simply been physical attraction, but it was not love. As God inspired Paul to write for us in I Corinthians 13, "Love never fails." Also, there is no price we could ever pay to buy true love. It is not for sale. It is given by the individual to whomever he or she pleases. If we tried to buy it, we would be laughed to scorn. Solomon knew all of this about true love. (Song of Solomon 8:7) He told us that many waters cannot quench love, nor will rivers overflow it. If a man were to give all his house, his possessions and money, for love, it would be utterly despised. That is a beautiful way to communicate an absolute truth.

Love is from God, because God is love. He gave each of us the ability to love others. That is a big part of being created in the image of God. Evolutionists have no explanation for true, unselfish love. It could not have just evolved, and it could never be produced by a chemical reaction. God blessed us with His eternal and priceless love, and we are blessed when we love others like God does. Also, this is a picture of Christ's love for us. He never fails to love us. Nothing can quench our Savior's love for His children. When we love Him, we will never fall out of love for Him either. His love is given freely, and we could never buy it. It is too precious for money or for words. What a blessing it is to give and receive true love from the Lord, from our spouse, or from a close friend. We need to cherish it, and nurture it all of our days on earth and for eternity in heaven.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 1-3.
