Strong Support

We all need strong support in our lives to be successful. We need the strong support of our parents as we grow up, so we can mature well. We need the strong support of our friends as we attend college or get started on a career. Of course, strong support from our spouse is needed to make our marriage and our family what it ought to be. None of us can do life well on our own. God made us to do life with others who will support us. David was the recipient of such support from the Mighty Men who went to be his personal army as he was fleeing from Saul. (I Chronicles 11:10) The Bible is clear that these men were used by God to aid David in his kingdom and without them, he would not have become king as God had ordained. That shows the importance of having strong support.

All of us have weaknesses, so we need others who can support us by their strengths in those areas, if we are to succeed. We all have blind spots. Others can see those things that we are missing and help us to see them, too. If we don't have that help, we will miss vital things in our lives and our decisions. We need the encouragement of others who love us. That builds us up to know we are able to do God's will. Most of all we need assistance in the battles of life. Alone, we will be defeated, but together we can stand victorious. Who are your mighty men? Who si your strong support? We need to thank these people and let them know how important they are to us. We need to thank God for them, too. They are helping is accomplish His will for us.
