God's Grace for Living

God is a gracious, loving God. He takes care of all people by giving us grace for living. Grace is God giving us more than we deserve. I hope we all agree that we have more than we deserve, since we are all sinners before our holy God. God's grace for living is seen in our lives in many forms, but suffice it to say that God gives us what we need to do what He has for us to do. Caleb is a great example of this truth. (Joshua 14:10,11) After Moses sent him in as one of the 12 spies to spy out the land of Canaan, he remained fully faithful to God. Therefore, he was given the land he spied out for his inheritance 45 years later, after the older generation died in the wilderness. He was 85 years old when he returned to claim his inheritance from the giants who lived there. God had given him grace, so that his strength had not diminished, at all. He was still just as strong for war and for going out and coming in. What a huge blessing. A similar statement is made in Deuteronomy 34:7 about Moses after 120 years. Isn't God good!

God has a plan for our lives, as believers. He knows what He has set out for us to do, even before we get saved. (Ephesians 2:10) Therefore, He knows just what we need to accomplish His plan. Just like Caleb, if we are fully faithful to God to trust Him and to do His will as He leads us, He will give us strength, wisdom, and other resources to do His will. Our part is to be fully faithful. God's grace supplies all the rest. If we need more money to carry out His will, God will supply it by His grace. If we need more physical strength, He will give that. He will even give us extra wisdom like He gave Solomon, if that is what we need. Remember what Paul told us, "God's grace is sufficient."(II Corinthians 12:9) I pray we will all be fully faithful and rejoice in His abundant grace for living our lives.
