Words to Build a Life On

 The Sermon on the Mount was given by Jesus to His disciples as a great multitude of people listened to Him at the same time. (Matthew 5-7) Read it and see for yourself. It is filled with wisdom for life. This message and all of the words of the Bible are words to build a life on. (Matthew 7:24) That is what Jesus told that crowd at the end of His message. As He often did, Jesus gave a parable, so the truths would sink in even better. I pray we all hear this wisdom and this parable, so we will build our lives on the words of God, the Bible.

I am not a very smart carpenter, at all, but I know I have to have a good foundation for anything I build. The words of God are that foundation for our life. If we will build our life on God's words, we will have a solid foundation, and nothing life throws at us will take us down. However, if we are a stupid carpenter, and we build our life on sand, we will be destroyed by the storms of life. That has happened to many people, because they thought the Bible was just incidental additions to their life, or homeowner improvements. They did not take the words of God and build their life on it. No matter what has happened in your life so far, you can choose now to build your life on God's Word and see your life become strong and unmovable in the face of trials.
