Racial Unity in Worship

(I know that there is only one race, because we all came from Noah and His three sons. However, for this post I am using the word race the way most people define it today.)

God desires for all people of all races to worship Him together in unity. That is how heaven is going to be, and He wants it to be that way here on earth now. Racial prejudice is a sin. God hates for His people to exclude people of other races from worshiping Jesus with us. He loves to see us in worship with many other believers of different racial backgrounds. We see this in the Bible in many places. One of those places tells of a time in the future when the Assyrians (Iranians) will worship with the Egyptians and the Jewish people as they meet together in Jerusalem to lift up Jesus. (Isaiah 19:23) That is an amazing prophecy, but it is going to happen. Let's learn some things from this prophecy.

In the Millennium Christ will reign from Jerusalem. God will bring Egypt and Iran to their knees even before that, so there will be a highway from Egypt to Iran running through Jerusalem. The people will come and go freely with no restrictions and worship Jesus together in unity. Isn't that how it should be now? We should not be against any other race. We should not shun any race of people from coming to America. Yes, I know we have to have immigration laws, but that is different. I am talking about welcoming people of all races, especially those who are Christians, to come and worship with us. If we would do that, we would experience a little bit of heaven on earth, because that is how it will be around the throne of God. (Revelation 7:9) I pray we will do what we can to bring racial unity to the worship in our churches now. That would be very pleasing to God.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 21-24.
