Gospel Saturation
The goal of every church should be to saturate their whole area with the Word of the Lord until all have heard the gospel. I know that seems impossible to many believers, but it is not. In fact, Paul saw that happen in Asia Minor, as he was preaching the Word in Ephesus for two years. (Acts 19:9,10) Not everyone believed in Jesus, but everyone living in the country that is now Turkey heard the Word of the Lord. That is gospel saturation. I am quite sure that warms the heart of God, because that is the beginning of completing His Great Commission.
Yes, the Word of the Lord upsets some people, as it did when Paul preached in the synagogues. However, when that happened, he was not discouraged. He just found another place to meet and continued delivering God's Word to the disciples and all who would hear. We must not give up, but we must reason with people like Paul did. Then, when some receive salvation through trusting Christ, we must develop them into mature disciples so they are ready to go reach people themselves. This process multiplies the disciples and thus multiplies the Word of God being shared until there is full saturation of an area. If we all do this, we can saturate the whole world with the gospel, too.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Acts 20-22.
