The Lord is My Support
David had all kinds of people confront him in his life. Some wanted to kill him. However, he could say that the Lord was his support in the day of his calamity. In fact, God brought him out of the conflict into a broad place. He rescued David so many times, because God delighted in him. (Psalm 18:18,19) I pray that we can all say that the Lord is our support and the one who rescues us, because He delights in us.
Why did God delight in David? Of course, the Bible tells us that David was a man after God's own heart. God saw that his heart was pure and faithful to the Lord. That caused God to delight in the thought of David, so that He came to His aid when he was confronted by his enemies.
How is your heart today? Does it cause God delight? Have you seen God's support and rescue in your life? If not, I would ask you to examine your heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you any wicked thing that is in there. Then, you can confess those things in repentance, so God will delight in you and be your support.
