Amend and Obey

God hates our sins, and He must punish us, when we decide to sin. If He did not punish us, He would be allowing us to sin, even encouraging us to sin. Therefore, we can count on Him to come against us in some way, when we sin. However, if we repent of our sins, and amend our ways to obey the voice of the Lord, then, He will change His mind about what He had planned to do. (Jeremiah 26:13) That is what Jeremiah told the people, and it still holds true today.

Each of us has some control over what we do and how we do it. When we know we have made the wrong choices, we can amend our ways and our deeds. We can change how we think and act. That is powerful in the eyes of the Lord. It causes the Lord to change His mind about His actions against our sins. He can and will change His mind, because we changed our ways, so His reason for causing us misfortune has been taken away. Please, heed this message. Don't be hard hearted! Don't persist in thinking and acting against God, but do what it takes to change His mind about you. It is much better to live in God's favor than in His anger.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 29-32
