Thankful for God's Forgiveness

God has reason to be angry with all of us, as believers. We have all sinned and forsaken His way in our lives many times. Each time, we feel His anger toward our sin, because He is a Good Father. He does not let us get away with sin, but He leads us back to Him through our punishment. However, He is always quick to forgive, when we confess our sins and turn back to Him. It is then, that we need to give Him thanks and take His comfort. (Isaiah 12:1) That is what the Israelites did when God forgave them and returned them from exile, and it is what we should do.

Notice a couple of things from this verse. God is willing and able to turn His anger away from us. He does not hold grudges against us for our sins. When we forgives, He takes His anger away. Our relationship with Him is restored. Also, He knows how He hurt us, when He was angry with us and punished us. Therefore, He knows just how to comfort us. He does not let us recover on our own. He provides the comfort, only He can give. What a loving Father!

Is God angry with you today? If so, please, realize His anger will be turned from you when you admit your sin and ask for His forgiveness. Remember that He is the Great Comforter. Even if it seems like things could never be restored. He can and will do that with His comfort. Please, do not think that His anger is forever. He stands ready to forgive and to heal.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 14-16.
