The Blessed People
People are searching for happiness and a good life. It is elusive to most people, because they are looking in the wrong places. We are happy and fulfilled when we are blessed by God. We are blessed by Him when we walk in the light of His countenance. We will only do that when we see that the foundation of His throne or His rule of this world is righteousness and justice. We will only desire to do His will when we know the joyful sound of His lovingkindness and truth. (Psalm 89:14,15) The psalmist recognized this and wrote about it for us to digest today and be blessed.
God rules according to what is right and just. He knows all and always judges correctly, since He created what is right, and He established justice. At the same time, God loves to be faithful to keep His part of our relationship with Him. Whatever He promises, He will do. He will always operate by the truth. Those who know these things hear the joyful sound. They know that life comes from the Lord, so God's righteous rule and lovingkindness are good for them, so they walk in the light of His countenance or face. They do not run from Him or try to get away with unrighteousness. They live by His truth and enjoy His faithfulness to them. They are blessed!
