Anyone Can Listen to God

God's people were stubborn-hearted and far from righteousness, but God still commanded them to listen to Him. (Isaiah 46:12) Could it be that the same thing is true of God's people today. Are you listening to God?

When we listen to God, we have to stop talking. We have to be quiet. The problem with most prayer is that we do so much talking to God, we do not allow Him time to talk to us. That is why we should think of every prayer as talking with God. Prayer is a conversation, not a speech or a monologue. When was the last time you sat quietly before the Lord with a heart intent on staying there until you heard from God? I would encourage all of us to do that every day.

Do not think you are too stubborn-hearted to hear from the Lord. No one can be too far from righteousness to hear God speak. The listening is up to us. We have to come to our senses, so that we force ourselves to listen to God. Remember, you do have control over yourself. You can decide to do what is right even if it has been years since you pursued righteousness. God desires to speak to all of us. That is why He says, "Listen to Me!"

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 47-49.
