Passing God's Tests
Israel failed to follow God's command to drive out all of the inhabitants of the land. Therefore, God did not help them drive them out, but He left them to test Israel to see if they would begin to obey God's commandments. (Judges 3:4) We can learn how to pass God's tests if we will pay attention to this verse.
God never allows us to be tested so that we will fail. He desires for us to pass the test and get stronger in our faith. The key to passing the test is to follow God's commandments exactly and not do what we think is right. His way may seem too hard, or we may not understand it. (Isaiah 55:8,9) However, His way is always correct, and He will aid us once we decide to follow His commands, so that we will pass the test. That is faith. It is deciding to trust God so that we act to obey His commands. God always responds favorably to our faith, but it is up to us to take the first step. Then, He leads us to victory.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Judges 5-7.
