God's Desire for Us

Of course, the Bible tells us that God desires for all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Once we know Him as Lord and Savior, what is His desire for His children? I believe He expressed that desire to the people of Israel in Moses' day. (Deuteronomy 5:29) We all need to grasp the truth of this verse.

God desires for believers to have such a heart that we would always obey Him. That is a heart that fears Him. Not that we are to be afraid of God, but to realize His great power and holiness, so that we never make excuses for disobeying Him, but we revere Him and keep all of His commandments.

God knows that if we will do that, it will be well with us and our children. That is His desire. He does not want us to live a defeated life. He desires for us to be victorious. Victory comes by trusting Him and doing all His commands in His power. That brings good outcomes and many blessings. This does not exempt us from trials, but it ensures that the good far outweighs the bad. Even in the trials we can overcome by keeping His commands.

I pray we would all have such a heart and see all of God's blessings for us.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 6-8.
