Judge, Lawgiver, and King

The Lord is our Judge, our Lawgiver, and our King. (Isaiah 33:22) We need all three all of the time. Unfortunately, some people do not know this, or they do not want to know God in these three roles. However, that does not change the truth for all of us.

The Lord will judge everyone who has ever lived. (Matthew 12:36; Romans 14:12; I Peter 4:5) The believers will give an account of their lives at the Mercy Seat Judgment, while the unbelievers will be called before the Judge at the Great White Throne Judgment. This is for our good that we will fear the Lord, and we will know that what we do matters.

The Lord gives us His laws to follow. That is why we have the Bible. I know it contains much more than laws, but since we have the Bible, we can never tell the Lord that we did not know what He expected of us. That is why we need to read all of God's Word and obey it. (Matthew 4:4)

The Lord is the King of the universe. He wants to be our King, too. We can try to fight against the King of all, but we will lose. The only right thing to do is to surrender to Him as our King and serve Him humbly from our hearts.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 36-39
