God's Favor On His Children
It is a wonderful thing to be a child of God. We live in God's favor for life. However, we still receive His anger when we sin, and we still have troubles. However, His favor tempers everything because of His mercy.(Psalm 30:5) The Psalmist speaks from his experience with God, and we can all profit from what he learned.
God's anger is quickly over. It is only for a moment. I am not saying that it is not hot, at times, and I am not saying that it is not a frightful experience to fall into the hands of an angry God. However, God's character is to act on His anger, and then move on, like He instructs us to do in Ephesians 4:26. God does not take pleasure in being angry. His holiness requires Him to experience righteous anger when we sin, but He gives us righteous punishment, so we can continue in His favor. We never fall out of favor with God once we belong to Him.
We will experience stress, sadness, and grief, which will cause us to weep. Tears are the language of the soul. We may cry all night at times, but God is with us, just like the sun that rises in the morning. He is faithful to bring the joy after the pain. After the dark night of weeping, joy comes in the morning. When we are in God's favor, He is always there for us to bring us through whatever may come.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 32-35.
