Want Perfect Peace?

God promises to keep one type of person in perfect peace.(Isaiah 26:3,4) I am sure He would love to give perfect peace to everyone, but since it is the result of what we do, it is up to us, not Him. God can't just open our mind and pour in plenty of peace. Peace is the result of having a mind that is stayed on the Lord, because we trust Him as Lord of our lives and we trust in His everlasting strength,  not our own strength, all the time. Some of you might ask, "Is that possible?" I would answer a resounding, "Yes."

Each of us has the ability to surrender to Jesus as Lord of our lives. We must decide to cease doing things our way, turn from our sins, and trust Him, because He is the Lord who loved us and died for our sins, so we could have peace with God. Then, we must decide to live every day by trusting Him fully. We die to self and selfishness, so that we focus on doing His will. That is having a mind stayed on the Lord. Believe me, people focus on a lot of harmful stuff in life. We can decide to focus on the Lord, His Word, and His will. We can start our day by praying and reading God's Word. We can  have a verse or two to meditate upon all day. We can be consciously talking with the Lord all day long. We can consult His Word when a problem arises, instead of doing what comes natural. We can ask for the Holy Spirit to fill us, control us, and direct us. We have all of the resources of the Almighty God at our disposal, when we decide to trust Him.

I pray that each of us will have perfect peace, today and every day. It is a precious gift from the Lord, when we decide to trust Him fully.(Philippians 4:6,7)

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 27-29.
