How God Teaches Us Knowledge and His Message

Most of us are impatient. We want everything "right now." However, some things just take time. One of those things is learning knowledge and God's message.(Isaiah 28:9,10) Learning is cumulative. We learn a little at a time, and add it to what we have already learned. Then, when we put it all together we have an understanding of the subject or the message. That is why we have grades in school. It is why some classes have a final exam based on everything the student has learned over a semester of time.

When we see this Scriptural truth, it drives home the reason we need to start teaching our children at a very young age, and the reason we need to study God's Word constantly throughout our lives. The younger a person starts the more quickly that person comes to accumulate enough knowledge to have a good grasp of the things of God. If we start later in our lives, there are some things we must "unlearn" or ways that we must change what we have been taught, because it was not truth. However, if we diligently study God's Word and pray each day, we can learn a lot in a relatively short period of time, and then, we can keep learning, little by little, the rest of our lives.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 30-32.
