Treating People Right
Capitalism is good. Greed that causes people to treat employees badly is an enemy of capitalism. We have many people who are turning to socialism because of the oppression of employees. God warns us about this in His Word.(Deuteronomy 24:14) You may have a good job and a good employer who treats you well. However, if there is oppression going on, it will infect our whole society, so that it hurts all of us.
I am not talking politics here. I am dealing with ethics. When we treat people in an unethical way, it hurts them, but it hurts our culture, too. We must follow God's command to build a culture that promotes treating people right, instead of taking advantage of people for personal profit. I know we don't have control of large companies, but we can do our part to promote companies and people that do treat people right. I believe that is what God would have us to do.
It is much better than promoting socialism, because socialism doesn't lift everyone up. It lowers everyone so that there are enough resources for all. That is not treating people right either. We must not make a bad choice because of oppression. We should do what we can to end the oppression of employees. The best way to do this is to see an awakening in America, because when the hearts of people are changed, they will change how they treat others. Without this heart change it is very difficult.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 26-28.
