Miracles

I believe we should pray for God to work miracles, and we should expect Him to answer our prayers. God uses miracles to show all of the people in the world that He is alive and powerful, as well as leading believers to fear Him as we should.(Joshua 4:23,24) Miracles have not ceased to happen, but if we fail to trust the Lord by doing what He tells us, He works less miracles.

God dried up the Jordan river, so Israel could cross over on dry ground like the previous generation had crossed over the Red Sea on dry ground. Imagine how that effected the people of Canaan! They saw the power of God in a dramatic way. Also, it showed the people of Israel that Joshua was chosen by God to lead, and He would be with Him like He was with Moses, so the people should obey Joshua and fear God. When miracles happen today, we have the same results. That is why we should desire miracles, not for selfish reasons, and definitely not to get God to do our will.

My heart is to see millions of people come to Christ in America and around the world. I believe we, as Christians, need to be praying for the Lord to show Himself in power through miracles, so that when we witness, the hearts of the people will be prepared because they know God is alive and all-powerful.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Joshua 7-10.
