Justifying Yourself
How much of the world's knowledge do you possess? Do you think you know 10% of everything there is to know in this universe? I would be surprised if any one person knew more than 1% of the knowledge. So, why would you think you are smart enough to buck God to get your way instead of His? Job found out how foolish that is, when God responded to Him. Then, God asked him the question that puts it all in perspective for us.(Job 40:8)
Let me just say it plainly. Anyone who thinks he or she is able to annul the judgment of God and condemn God's ways is a foolish person. God is the only one who can see the past, present, and future at the same time. He is outside of time. He created everything, including people, so He is the only one who knows how everything works. He knows each individual person better than we know ourselves. Why would we want to get our way, instead of listening to All-Mighty, All-Knowing God? It could only be deluded arrogant pride.
Give it up. Stop trying to get your way. If you got it, what would you have? Think back on your life decisions. How many of them went wrong? I would venture to say that all of them went wrong that did not follow God's ways and His design. Just give in and don't try yo justify your way. Our Loving Heavenly Father has shown us the way to go in the Bible, and He will give us His Spirit to guide us, once we trust Him as Lord. That is the only way to know the truth, because Jesus is the truth, and all truth is God's truth.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Job 42 and Psalms 1-2.
