Increasing in Number Daily

In the book of Acts the norm for the church was to see people saved on a daily basis.(Acts 16:5) This is one of the first things we learned about the church in Acts 2:47. I am convinced that this would still be true today, if every believer was being a disciple who makes disciples and teaches them to make disciples, too. That is what Jesus commanded in the Great Commission, and it was the norm in the early church.

When was the last time you heard about someone being saved? Why are we not hearing about people being saved on a daily basis now? I do not believe the reason is that people have hard hearts. In Paul's day everyone worshiped idols, and they were thoroughly pagan, even more than today. The reason we are not seeing people saved on a daily basis now is that all Christians are not witnessing in the power of the Holy Spirit every day.  If we would all do that every day, there would be some saved every day. Just think about it this way. Even if a church had only 50 members, the gospel would be shared at least 50 times each day. Therefore, it would only take one of those 50 seeds to find the right soil and bear fruit. Most churches have far more than 50 members, but we are not taking our responsibility seriously. I am praying for the day that we will see people saved every day in our church. Will you pray for that in your church, too? Just think of how that would change America and the world in a very short time.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Acts 18-20.
