Without God We Are Sunk
All of our efforts are in vain, if God chooses not to do His part.(Psalm 127:1) We can be the best parents we can be in our own power and intellect, and we will build our house in vain. Our country can provide for all of the national security that money and intelligence can produce, but without the Lord's protection, we are not safe from attack. We are sunk if we forget the Lord and leave Him out of our lives, our families, and our country.
God only chooses to bless what is in line with His character and His will. For Him to be a part of our families and our country, we must submit to His will and conform to His character, to the image of Christ. Anything less is compromise, and He will not be part of it. As we enter the July 4th holiday, let's stop and reflect on God's presence in our families and our country and what we can do to insure His blessings.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 130-132.
