Every Spiritual Blessing
God has given every believer a great blessing. He has laid up "every spiritual blessing" for us in the heavenlies, the spiritual realm.(Ephesians 1:3) He has thought of everything we will need to live the Christian life after we come to know Christ, and He has put it away for us, so we will have it when we need it. Isn't that amazing? It is true, though. We should never lack anything we need to live for Him.(Psalm 23)
The problem is that many believers do not receive those blessings. They miss out, because they do not ask for them, or they ask for the wrong things. Also, they miss the blessings that have been laid up for them, if they are not trusting the Lord for what they need, but they are trusting their own power and intellect. Therefore, those believers do not reach their potential in life, and their blessings are left in the storehouse of God.
Imagine what will happen one day. We will have to stand before the Lord to give an account of our life to Him. What if we start complaining that we could have done better than we did, but we did not have what we needed. Then, the Lord calmly opens the door to our compartment in the storehouse, and He begins to show us everything that was available to us. That will put an end to our excuses, won't it? I pray that we will understand this spiritual reality and appropriate these blessings by faith, so that we have the abundant life God has planned for us.
Tomorrow, I intend to begin reading Genesis to meditate on it and prepare for my messages through the Bible this year.
