Christmas Lessons
Christmas is a wonderful time of the year because we make it a point to do certain things that are meaningful to us. There is really no reason we can't do them all year long.
As believers, we try to remember how much Jesus cares for us that He would leave Heaven and come down to live on earth. The incarnation shows the love of God and the determination to provide the solution for our sins. We say, "Jesus is the reason for the season." Jesus should be the reason we live every day, and we should live every day knowing His great love for us.
We send cards to friends and family. We send letters with news of the year. We make calls and visits to those who are special to us. In reality, we should make it a priority to nurture relationships every day. People are so much more important than things or money.
Finally, we give gifts to those we love. We are generous. In fact, some people spend too much money. They go overboard to show their love. If we were generous all year long, and we showed our love in simple acts of kindness all the time, we would not need to go overboard at Christmas. There are a million ways to show others we love them, besides buying presents once a year.
The people who practice the Christmas lessons all year long are the happiest and most satisfied people. They are enjoying the good things in life 365 days a year. I hope you are one of those people.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 14-16.
