Christmas 2011
Chris and I would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas! It is our prayer that you are experiencing the joy that comes from knowing Christ in a loving relationship that is real and personal. The birth of Christ into this world which we celebrate at Christmas was God’s way of showing us once and for all that He loves each of us, and He has a desire to be personally involved in our lives.
Our family has been blessed in 2011, and I would like to share some of those blessings with you. All of the credit for everything goes to the Lord Jesus. We are in awe of His goodness, grace, and mercy toward us this year. The economy in Atlanta has been pretty bad this year, but God has more than provided for our church and for us. We have been healthy, except for the normal aches, pains, and colds. God is so good!
Lori, Jeff, Kade, and Avenly are doing well in Japan. Jeff and Lori are reaching out to their neighbors and acquaintances to share the Good News of Jesus with them and to start house churches. Please, pray for God to bless their witness. Kade has started first grade in Japanese school, so he is learning to speak and to write Japanese in addition to being home schooled in English. Avenly is growing up, and they have found a kindergarten for her to begin attending soon.
In May, Dixie became Mrs. Stacy White. Stacy is a fine Christian man, who loves the Lord, and who loves Dixie and Jacob. They have been fixing up Stacy’s house for their family. It is a challenge and a blessing. Dixie is still working at the children’s hospital as an RN and volunteering at the Pregnancy Resource Center, while Stacy does home repairs and remodeling. Jacob is growing leaps and bounds, as well as talking non-stop.
John and Gao Foua’s ministry to low income youth and their families in Aliquippa is still going well. Now, things will be a little different, because little Mercy Pangnou Jordan came into their lives on December 12, 2011. She is healthy and beautiful. We hope to see her in person before too long, but we will use Skype in the meantime.
Chris’ mother, Anne Bennett, is still staying with us and Chris’ sister, Kathy, on a rotating basis. My parents are doing well, even though Mom had another bad spell with her back this year and Dad had to have some tests done, too. They are much better now.
We are truly blessed. We are praying that God will bless you and your family with a wonderful 2012. We can keep up with each other on Facebook the rest of the year.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 11-13.
