Saving Lives and Saving Souls

This evening Chris and I went to the Prayer Dessert for the Pregnancy Resource Center of Henry County. It is the time set aside to pray for the annual fundraising banquet. This year the banquet is on November 10 at Eagles Landing Christian Academy Theatre Room.

Abbey Johnson is our guest speaker this year. Abby Johnson quit her job in October 2009. That simple act became a national news story because Abby was the director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas who, after participating in her first actual abortion procedure, walked across the road to join the Coalition for Life.

Her new book, Unplanned, is a heart stopping personal drama of life-and-death encounters, a courtroom battle, and spiritual transformation that speaks hope and compassion into the political controversy that surrounds this issue. Telling Abby's story from both sides of the abortion clinic property line, this book is a must-read for anyone who cares about the life versus rights debate and helping women who face crisis pregnancies.

If you would like to reserve a place at the banquet, let me know. The banquet is free, but the purpose is to raise funds for the PRC, so we can see more lives saved and souls saved. Therefore, there will be an appeal for donations and pledges. It is a very worthy cause, which I believe is very close to the heart of God.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Zephaniah 2-3 and Haggai 1.
