Peace In The Storm
The economic and political circumstances of the world today are very unstable, to say the least. No one knows what will happen in the days and weeks ahead. While men negotiate and plan, God sits above it all working His plan for the ages. We see in the Bible a glimpse of what could be about to happen. It is not a pretty sight. We could be seeing the collapse of the world economy, which would prepare the way for a global economy and a world government. Life as we have known it in the USA could be radically changed.
All of these uncertainties could lead to turmoil in our hearts, except for one thing. If we are firmly established in a secure personal love relationship with the King of the universe, we can have a heart full of peace. We do not have to fear or dread the future. We have assurance that He will hold us through the storm and bring us safely to the other side. In the meantime we stay focused on Him, stay connected with people, and stay on mission with Christ. We are the only salt and light the world has, and when things get seriously out of control from a human perspective, we need to show the stability of peace that comes from Christ Jesus, our Lord. Let's be prepared for whatever may come by sleeping with the One who can calm the storm. Let's not look at the waves and the wind. Let's look at the Lord of the sea. Let's walk on the water with Him in the midst of the storm.
Today, I read Song of Solomon 4-6.
