Giving an Account to God

My verse today was Romans 14:12. It is about the Lord's Final Exam. One day each believer will stand before the Mercy Seat of Christ, and we will give an account of our life to God. For unbelievers it will be a totally different time and place. It will be the Great White Throne Judgment of Revelation 20:11-15. However, neither time of reckoning will be about our sins. The moment we die our sins are either forgiven or they are not forgiven, but it is too late to change our standing before God. Each time of judgment will be about how we responded to God's plan for our lives. The unbeliever will see every opportunity God gave them to trust God, and the believer will see every opportunity we had to bear fruit for Him.

Therefore, God wants us to know that our lives really count. We decide if we will pass or fail His final exam by how obedient we are to Him. The reality is that our actions do not just affect us, but they affect many other people. If we fail to obey, we miss God's blessings, and others miss out on our influence. Both are so vital. I pray that we will all be diligent to obey the Lord and to hear Jesus say, Well done!

Tomorrow, I intend to read I Corinthians 2-5.
