Soft Hearts

Today was a very busy day, but it was a fabulous day in at least one way. I was privileged to share the Gospel of Jesus with two groups of children, and several of them wanted to know just how to trust Jesus as Lord of their lives. Praise the Lord!

Sometimes, we are prone to overlook the children in our busy lives. We are like the disciples of Jesus, who thought Jesus was too busy and too important to spend time with the children. Jesus corrected that false assumption in Matthew 19:14. He told them that they should allow the children to come and not to forbid them. Why did He say that? The reason was that "of such is the kingdom of Heaven." Jesus explained that in another passage when He said that unless we become as children, we will not enter the kingdom. Children have soft hearts, and without a soft pliable heart, no one comes to trust Jesus as Lord.

I praise God for these children who came to understand what it means to be a Christian today in chapel and in Good News Club. We must never miss an opportunity to deal with them while they have soft hearts. Otherwise, they will get harder and harder, until they will not surrender to the Lord Jesus and be eternally lost.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 32-33 and Colossians 1.
