God's Victory Over Satan - Micah 4-5 and Revelation 12

Sometimes, as we read the Bible, it is easy to miss the big picture and focus in on the details too much. Revelation 12 is the inspired written record of what John saw, as God showed him the cosmic struggle with Satan and His victory over him. The bottom line is that God was assuring John and all believers that the victory belonged to the Lord and not to Satan. The Devil has fought against God since before the earth was created, but he will not prevail. In fact, God is working out His plan to defeat Satan and all of his demons forever. The birth of the male Child, Christ, was a big part of that plan. His death and resurrection were the death blow to Satan. Then, in the end God will triumph completely during the Tribulation time and the Millennial reign of Christ. Micah for saw both of these things. He told us that Christ was to be born in Bethlehem, and he also, saw the reign of Christ during the 1,000 years of peace on earth. This shows us even more how God was and is working out His plan all the time.

Do you live in the assurance that Christ is Lord and no one can ever defeat Him? Do you live knowing that God has a part for you to play in His plan? Do you know that nothing should discourage us, as believers, since we know the end of the story? A believer can get away from Christ and live a defeated life. I do not doubt that fact. I see it all the time. What I am saying is that God never intends for that to happen. He has thought of everything to defeat Satan. If we live by His will and plan, we can live in victory. We can have victory over sin through the blood of Christ. We can have victory in life each day by the power of the Spirit. We can have victory for eternity because Christ is preparing a place for us in heaven. Therefore, we must not live like we are on the losing team. We must live in the reality of God's victory.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Micah 6-7 and Revelation 13.
