Till You Know
There are a lot of people who say there is no God. There are others who say that there might be a God, but they are not sure, because they do not have knowledge of Him. For both atheists and agnostics the result is the same. They do not believe in God, and they do not come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. They blame their lack of faith on a lack of evidence or a lack of knowledge of God. I believe the Bible makes it clear that God always reveals Himself to each person born into this world, so we are without excuse if we do not believe in Him.
King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon is a great example of this truth. He was proud and believed he had done everything on his own, but God showed him that was not true. (Daniel 4:25) Daniel showed the king the meaning of his dream. He would be driven from men, live with the animals, and eat grass like oxen. He would be wet with the dew of heaven until seven times passed (probably seven years) till he would know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and He gives it to whomever He chooses. Then, the king had to choose to put His trust in God alone for His salvation.
I don't believe that things like that happen very often, but they do happen. Each of us is unique, and God knows just what we need to have happen to us, so that we know for sure that He exists. It could be a bright light, like Saul on the road to Damascus. It could be a still, small voice, like Elijah heard. God gets through to every heart, because He loves each of us and wants us to put our faith in Him.
Just think back over your life. Think of all of the times that you heard that small voice speaking to you on your bed or when you were out in nature. Perhaps, you had a traumatic event in your life, like an accident or a disease, and God came to reveal Himself to you through that difficult time. We have to be listening to really hear from Him, but He is making Himself known to us. Then, we have to decide to turn from our sins and put our trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior once and for all. I pray all of us have made this vital decision. If not, please, do it today.
