My Eye Sees You

There are some things that we know. Then, there are those things we really know well. What is the difference? There is a huge difference in how much we comprehend about that subject and how much it effects our lives. The things we really see and know are the things which touch us deeply in our hearts. The other things we know are just facts we have in our heads.

Job went through a lot during His trial from the Lord. He lost everything but his life and his wife, but God gave him back twice as much after it was over. However, that was not the greatest blessing Job received. (Job 42:5,6) Job had known about God by the hearing of the ear, but after the trial his eye saw Him. Therefore, He abhorred himself and repented in dust and ashes. Job was changed for the better.

Job knew God  and worshiped God before God allowed Him to suffer loss and feel so much pain. He was believing and worshiping based on what he had been taught and learned. Then, when he wrestled with God over his pain and heard God speak to his heart, he was able to see God in a whole new way that was deeper than anything he had known before. His relationship with God became real and personal.

When he saw God clearly, it caused him to be able to see himself  clearly, too. He saw his sin in thinking God may have made a mistake and wanting to present his case to God. He saw God's holiness and his sinfulness, so he sincerely repented. That is what will happen to us when we see God and really know Him. We will see our sins more clearly, be able to confess them, repent, and be made right with God. Then, we walk with Him in humility and the joy of knowing Him experientially.
