Complete Trust

We have various levels of trust. We can trust some people a little, so we give them unimportant responsibilities. Then, there are others that we trust a lot, so we delegate very important tasks to them. However, I wonder how many people there are that we would trust them with our life? How many people could we trust to do the right thing with our life?

We may not know of anyone in whom we can place complete trust, but we can, and we should trust the Lord completely. That is the kind of trust that Job had in the Lord. (Job 13:15) Job declared to his friends, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him." I know of no greater statement of trust than this. I pray we all trust the Lord Jesus like this.

Job knew that if God took his life from him, he could trust in the Lord for doing the right thing at the right time. I am afraid that many of us would argue with God if we got a terminal cancer diagnosis. We would find it very hard, if not impossible to trust that God was doing the right thing in our life at that point. However, that is the kind of trust in God that each of us should have.

Job wanted to stand before God and defend his ways before Him. He was confident in this because of his complete trust in God. We should know that we can make our case to God and whatever he says about our ways will be correct. He is not going to be unjust. He will listen, and do what is right. It may not be what we think He would do, like Job found out later, but we can trust Him whatever He says back to us.
