Our Strong Refuge

One things is certain in life. We will have troubles and trials. Jesus said that we would have tribulation while we are here on earth. Some people are totally unable to handle these troubles because they do not know the Lord. For those who know Him, He is our strong refuge. What comfort and hope that brings to all of His children.

Nahum gave us this promise. (Nahum 1:7) The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in Him. That is a precious promise for us. It should give us much hope and courage in our times of trials.

The Lord is good! Sometimes when we have trouble, we can be tempted to doubt His goodness and His power. Those thoughts come from Satan, the world, and the flesh. We must never doubt the goodness of God, since He gave His Only-Begotten Son, Jesus, to die and rise again, so we can have forgiveness and eternal life. That settled any question about His love and goodness to us.

In addition, God is a strong refuge. We can run to Him, as soon as we see trouble coming. He is all -powerful and all-wise, so He can and will take care of us. His promise is that He is always close to those who trust Him. In fact, He is with us all the time for any need. So let's trust Jesus as Savior and Lord and then, let's trust Him every day, and He will be our Strong Refuge all the time.
