Make Known His Praise

I have been noticing the connection between the joy of the Lord, rejoicing in the Lord, and praising the Lord. I believe it is very difficult for us to rejoice and to praise the Lord, as we are commanded to do, if we do not have the joy of the Lord growing in us. Of course, joy is a fruit of the Spirit, so we have to cooperate with Him, as He bears that fruit in our life, or we will be lacking in joy, rejoicing, and praise.

God inspired Isaiah to tell His people to spread His praise. (Isaiah 12:5) God commands us, as believers, to sing to the Lord, for He has done wonderful things. We are commanded to make known His praise around the world. These are not optional for us. They are commands. So how are we doing?

One specific reason we may be lacking the joy of the Lord is that we are not remembering the wonderful things God has done for us and for our world. I am seeing we need to have a praise and thanksgiving list as part of our prayer list. Then, our mind can be transformed into a joyful mind as we concentrate on the great things of God, instead of our problems.

Then, we will be able to sing to the Lord in our own hearts and when we gather with other believers. Our joy will bubble up, and our tongues will give voice to songs of praise and worship. Also, we will spread His praise everywhere we go and even to other lands as we praise Him to other people and on social media. I pray others will hear and see our praise for God constantly.
