Whiter than Snow

It can be so frustrating to get a spot on a white shirt or any kind of stain on our clothes. We have all sorts of cleaners and home remedies. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't. We even have to try again and again until the fabric gets worn looking from the treatments when we are really trying to clean a tough stain.

Our sins are the toughest stains to remove. We can't do it, but God can. (Psalm 51:7) David called on God to purify him from his sins, knowing that then he would be clean. He asked God to wash him, and then he would be whiter than snow. Now that is clean!

Our sins form a terrible stain on our soul, and that stain separates us from God. Nothing we can ever do will remove that stain so we can be close to God. It is only by the blood of Jesus that was shed for us that we can be purified from our sins. When we come to Him in repentance and faith, the Lord Jesus will clean us thoroughly.

In fact, He will make us "whiter than snow." Snow is so clean and bright. It is hard to imagine being whiter than snow. However, that is what the Lord does. He makes us just as if we had never sinned. No stains at all, but shining with His righteousness in us. I pray we all have come to Jesus for this eternal cleansing.
