Praising God for Saving Us

God deserves all of our praise all of the time. He is worthy of all praise from all people. He is our Maker, and we owe Him our praise and thanks for all we have. However, there is at least one thing that we ought to praise Him for in a very special way. Jesus Christ is the One who died and rose again to save us from our sins. If He has saved you by grace through faith, you owe Him much praise.

The psalmist gives us a word picture to show us this point. (Psalm 116:13) He says that he will lift up the cup of salvation and praise the Lord's name for saving him. This was his way of showing his great praise for the God who saved him in salvation from sins and from the trials of this life. We would do well to do the same thing every day.

Salvation from sins is priceless. There is nothing we could ever do or pay to earn it for ourselves. Jesus took the cup of our sins and He drank it. He died for all of our sins by taking our sins upon Him and becoming sin for us. Then, when we repented of our sins and trusted Him as our Lord and Savior, He set us free from sin, once and for all.

However, that is not all. The Lord is there to walk with us each day, and to save us from all kinds of attacks and harm. He is literally our Deliverer every day. For those times of salvation from Satan and the world's attacks, we owe it to praise His name for saving us. That way, everyone around us sees that Only He can save us.
