Wisdom, Understanding, and Knowledge

I believe most of us realize that wisdom, understanding, and knowledge are very important. I am not sure that we know the full value of each one. If we did, we would spend more time seeking after them, and our lives would greatly benefit from our acquisition of them.

Solomon asked God for wisdom and understanding to rule God's people well. (I Kings 4:29) Then, God was so pleased that He gave Solomon very great wisdom, understanding, and knowledge as vast as the sands of the seashore. Let's learn from this so we can be blessed as God desires for us to be blessed.

We can't get true wisdom anywhere except from God. He created all things, and it was His wisdom that allowed Him to do it so well. Wisdom is seeing things as God sees them, so only He can impart that to us. We need to seek wisdom from God, and we know it starts with the fear of the Lord.

Also, God can give us great understanding and knowledge. He understands how all things work, and He has all knowledge. Yes, we can learn some understanding and knowledge, but we could never get as much as God can and will give us if we seek Him for it. We can know He will be pleased with us if we ask for these things, just as He was pleased with Solomon.
