Our Warning from Heaven

We are constantly bombarded by warnings of all kinds. Many of these warnings are very helpful. We receive warnings about places that are unsafe, so we can stay away from those places. We hear about foods or medicines that have been tainted, so we should avoid them. We even have doorbells today with cameras so we can be warned if someone harmful is waiting at our door. We do well to heed these valid warnings about life and material things. However, some people do not pay attention to those types of warnings. They still go wherever they want to go, consume what they desire to consume, and they feel like they will not be attacked, so they open the door anyway. Why do we do that? It is not very smart. This is even more true when we fail to heed warnings from God. The Bible is full of them. Preachers and teachers are warning us all the time, but most people go their own way without a thought. This is a dire situation. (Hebrews 12:25) The Bible is full of accounts of people not escaping dangers when they were warned by someone on earth. How much less will we escape if we fail to turn away when One warns us from heaven? Think about it.

God is all about warning people. He knows how to get our attention by sending difficulties and pain into our lives. God knows just how to speak directly to our hearts. He loves us, and He knows if we go against His warnings, our lives will be destroyed. Still people ignore the warnings by God's messengers, and they ignore God's warnings from heaven to their hearts. This is a result of pride and stubbornness. It is caused by people seeking pleasures that are forbidden by God. People are often just preoccupied by selfishness, and so they reject God's voice. Please, do not allow yourself to do that. Listen to what God is saying to you. Heed His warnings, and abide by His truth. Then, He can forgive your sins and give you eternal life in Jesus, but if you reject His warnings, you will be lost forever in a state of eternal punishment intended for Satan and his demons. I pray we all will heed our warnings from heaven and be spared from his fate worse than death.
