Tell All God has done for You

It is such a joy to be a Christian. I don't mean that all is rosy all the time. I mean it is great because God is always with us, and even when we are going through painful situations, He is blessing us. Beginning with the time we came to know Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior all the way to today, we have experienced the goodness of God in our life. We must not keep these things to ourselves, but we must share them with everyone around us all of the time. That is what Jesus told the man named Legion who was set free from many the demons which had possessed him. (Luke 8:39) After his salvation and his return to his right mind, Jesus told him to go back to his home and tell everyone what God had done for him. The man was obedient and went forth proclaiming throughout the town how much Jesus had done for him. This is an excellent reminder for all of us, as believers, of what we should be doing.

Sometimes we are afraid to tell people about Jesus. We don't want them to laugh at us or deride us. We are afraid they might reject us in some way, because they do not want to believe in Jesus and the good news of the gospel. Therefore, we stay silent, and those people never have a chance to come to the Lord. Of course, we must not let this happen. So what should we do? Let's determine to tell them all that God has done for us. Let's share our story of coming to know Jesus and how He has changed us. Let's share the big events in our lives that were the direct intervention of God. Then, let's even share the every day blessings from God and how He fills us with peace, joy, and love. When we do this, we are not being offensive to anyone. We are not telling them what to do. We are showing them what it is like to know the Lord. Then, we can let the Spirit work on their hearts, and we can answer their questions about God's blessings on us. We can pray and seek for the time when their hearts will be open to the gospel and share it then. Any of us, as believers, can and should do this. Now, I am not ruling out presenting the message of the gospel even the first time we meet someone if that is what God says to do. I am simply reminding us of another way to get through to people about the Lord.
