With You There Is Forgiveness

We all mess up. We make mistakes, and we fail to do what is right. Sometimes, we are just rebellious and we do what is wrong intentionally. This is part of being human. Therefore, we all need forgiveness. Without forgiveness, our lives would be miserable or worse. I can't imagine what our lives would be like if we could not give and receive forgiveness from other people. However, God is the One from whom we really need forgiveness. He knows every sin we commit. He knows our motives and all of the details. We would all be in a terrible state, if He kept up with all of our sins and held them against us. (Psalm 130:3-4) The good news is that with God there is forgiveness. He shows us His love and care by His forgiveness, and when we see His nature, we revere Him. I wonder how much we really revere God? Also, I wonder how much we revere others?

When we trust Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God forgives all of our sins. We are cleansed from the stain. The burden is lifted from our conscience. We are set free from hindrance between us and God. Because of this wondrous reality, we should revere God's great love and His great plan for our salvation. We should forever be grateful for Him and to give Him all the glory for forgiving our sins. Also, we are to be like God once we come to know Christ.  Therefore, we should forgive others, as God has forgiven us. When others see us forgiving them, they will appreciate us and realize we love them and care about them. We should show the same appreciation to those who forgive us. We should tell them how much we appreciate their care for us. Then, our lives will be so much better, when we have God's forgiveness, and we are giving and receiving forgiveness, as God designed.
