Blessing and Being Blessed

The Bible is clear that we, as Christians,  should look out for the needs of others before meeting our own needs. That is the essence of unselfish service. Jesus is our Perfect Example, and God's goal for us is to be conformed to Christ's image. Therefore, God has given us spiritual principles to lead us into Christlikeness. The psalmist gave us a very practical one. (Psalm 112:5) Good will come to us if we lend generously and conduct our business fairly. That is something we all need to hear and do to be a blessing to others and to be blessed.

Jesus was the most Generous Lender of all. He gave His body to be broken, His blood to be the payment for our sins, and His life to die for us, so we could have forgiveness for our sins and eternal life by repenting of our sins and trusting Him as Lord and Savior. Now, He gives us what we have, so we will use it to help others. Then, He blesses us, and others will see our love and bless us, too, even though we don't do it for the blessing. Also, when we conduct our business fairly the same two things will happen, because we act righteously. Other people see that, and they are grateful. Let's decide to be like Jesus in these ways, so we can be a blessing to others and be blessed.
