God's Perfect Plan

God has a wonderful plan for our life. If we will be faithful to trust Him even when we do not understand what He is doing, He will make sure His plan is done perfectly. If we try to make our own plans for ourselves, they will always come up short. We have no way to know the future or to know how to carry out what is best for us. Joseph's life is a great example of this truth. His brothers sold him into slavery in Egypt. He did hold a grudge against them or give up on God. He stayed faithful as a slave and as a prisoner. Through a series of events Joseph became the second in command in Egypt under Pharaoh. His job was to keep the country stable through the seven years of famine, which he did well. Then, when his brothers came to buy food in Egypt, he worked to get his brother and all of his father's household to come to Egypt. Finally, he revealed himself to his brothers who sold him. (Genesis 45:5,7) He was not angry with them. He explained that God had sent him ahead of them to preserve life through his job in Egypt, to establish them as a remnant in Egypt, instead of starving in Canaan, and to keep them alive in this miraculous way. What a glorious example of the providential leadership of God.

I wonder how God has worked in our lives? Have we become angry or bitter when bad things happened, or have we continued to be faithful to God? If we have stayed faithful to Him, no matter what has happened, we have seen God bless us. We have seen Him work out the circumstances of our life so that we were in the right place at the right time. God has worked it out to bless our family, too. It is His will for our family to be preserved and to prosper so we can serve Him for generations to come. As we trust Him, we will see that happen, too. Also, we will be able to look back on many miracles and times of great deliverance. I know we have all seen God work His plan so that He made a way when there seemed to be no way. That is the Loving God we serve. He sees the future and as we trust Him, He will work out our future for our good, for the good of our family, and for the good of those around us, just like He did for Joseph.
